Fish Oil Brief

So what’s the deal with fish oil? I am writing about it because I want to find out more about the product before I purchase it. I’ve read many articles that give researched evidence that it’s good for you in improving heart health and also your overall functioning of the mind and body.
Question: What is fish oil? Fish oil contains 2 EFA’s (essential fatty acids): eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)–the omega-3 fatty acids. They are essential because our body cannot sythesize them so we have to get it from an outside source such as food or supplements. It is said that the supplement is better due to the purification to exclude mercury and organic toxins.
Evidence suggests that fish oil helps lower triglycerides, reduces inflammation, reduces high blood pressure, improves the circulating of fats in the blood, and reduces the clotting of blood. It also improves brain function due to the DHA, which is a major component of cell membranes in the central nervous system. There’s alot more to it but the overall effect is the increase in disease protection.
I also read an article about how it helps lower fat loss. Research was done by giving a group of people fish oil and another group without fish oil. They were all on the same diet and exercise plan and the overall conclusion was that those who took the fish oil loss more weight than those who did not.
Doesn’t sound like a bad idea to consume fish oil daily.
